白神山地森林ボランティア体験 |

世界に誇る財産・自然遺産を後世に残していくことを目的とし、１９９３年に白神山地は世界遺産（自然遺産）に登録された年に発足した白神山地を守る会は年間を通じて、ブナの植樹やエコツアー、ガイド養成等を実施している。その活動拠点がある鯵ヶ沢町には、赤石川という川が流れ、世界遺産白神山地の核心部分の奥山まで源流部が延びていて、太古の昔から日本海に豊かな自然を育む。
この赤石川が流れる周辺地で、白神山地を守る会では、復元・再生事業としてブナの苗木を一人前になるまで１０年間ぐらいのスパンで育てる事業を行っている。しかし、手作業も現在だけでは限界があり、ワークキャンプではその作業をサポートする目的で、ブナ林の復元・保全作業を実施した。ブナの苗木のある苗床での管理作業や、白神山地周辺のスギの除伐・植林地の下草刈りや、ウサギネットの手入れなどを実施した。また、毎年開催されている今年で５回目の植樹祭のお手伝いも実施してくれました。今回参加してくれたのは、世界からフィンランド・ハンナさん、アメリカからエマさん、韓国からハンミュンさん、日本から鈴木里佳さん、そしてチームリーダーの高平奈奈世さんです。そこに１人、インターシップで中垣美有喜さんもいて、このワーキングキャンプはとても楽しいものになりました。１人１人の活動の感想と、日々の活動のシーンを全国に、世界に届けたいと思います。ありがとう。

We all got up early and started out first day together.
We drove to the working place and the local people were already there.
They were very kind and tried to talk with us.
Even though I knew few Japanese words, they were helpful to communicate
with them.
The work was not easy. We all get tired after work.
And as I have some problem with my waist I could not do my best today.
Well I don’t know how it will be like tomorrow but it hurts tonight..
Hope all of us have a great time here together.
今朝は早く起きて初日の作業に取り掛かりました。車にて現地に到着すると地域の方はすでに到着されていました。とても親切で色々とお話をしようとしてくれました。私が少ししか日本語が知らないのにも関わらず、会話をしようとしてくれました。仕事はあまり楽ではなく、仕事後はメンバーはとても疲れていました。また同時に私は腰痛を持っており、今日はあまりいい状態ではなく、今夜は少し痛みがあり、明日が不安です。メンバー全員がいい時間を過ごせたらいいなと思っています。 |

Volunteers looked tired this morning.
Maybe we were all tired from yesterday’s work.
Today we could all relax enough and also take time.
So everybody looked fine today.
But my waist hurts more than yesterday so I’m a bit worried about it.
Anyway we’re all busy during the day but after dinner it’s very boring.
We need to find something to do here together.
And also hope my waist will get better soon.
メンバーは今朝、疲れているようでした。昨日の仕事の影響かもしれません。今日は時間をとってゆっくりと行ったため、仕事後は元気のようでした。しかし、私の腰痛は昨日よりもひどく、少し心配です。日中は仕事も多く、忙しいのですが、夕食後は退屈してしまいます。ここで一緒に出来る何かを探したほうがいいかもしれません。すぐに腰もよくなるといいのですが・・・・。その後、ハンミュンさんは、腰痛がひどくなり、韓国に帰国しました。 |

We went to the
field for the first time and gathered baby trees. It was really fun! It
was the first day meeting all the village people. We gathered a whole green
house worth of trees in just under 2 hours. I was surprised at how fast
we worked. We had dinner with other audults from village. I had a fun time!
But got many misquito bites.
今日は初めて畑に行き、苗木を集めました。とても楽しかったです。今回が地域の方とあったのは初めてでした。時間でハウス内の木をすべて集めることが出来、早くできたのでびっくりしました。また夜は地域の方と一緒に食事をとり、楽しい時間を過ごしました。蚊にたくさん刺されてしまいましたが・・・・。 |

We went back to the
field and planted baby trees all day! We planted many many trees! It was
really fun and hard work. I learned a lot about gardening. Gardening is
really fun.
今日は畑にもどり、一日中、植え替えを行いました。ほんとにたくさんの木を植えました。大変でしたが、とても楽しい作業でした。庭仕事についてたくさん学ぶことが出来、庭仕事の楽しさを知りました。 |

We bult fences all
morning outside of the trees that we planted the day before.
We used wooden logs as poles to hold up the wire fence.
It was fun! I cought a cold, feel sick. But I like the people from the
village, and my friends in the volunteer group. I went for a walk around
the area and saw many houses during my free time.
I love the people from Shirakami village, and my fellow volunteers!!!!!!!
午前中、先日植えた木の周りに柵を立てました。木の棒をポールとして使い、フェンスを縛りつけました。とても楽しかったです。風邪を引いてしまい、病気がちでした。しかし、私はとても地域の方やボランティアの仲間が好きです。空いた時間にこの地域をみてまわり、沢山のおうちをみました。
私はこの白神山地のみなさんとボランティアの仲間がとてもすきです! |
エマさんも途中で帰国しました。

12.06.2006 Hanna Kainulainen
In the morning we dig little trees from the ground and put them in baskets
and carried them for others to plant. After lunch we carried ground in
plastic bags down to another place. We took fences down from the walls
and fold it and put it in storage. In the afternoon we made pairs with
locals and they showed how to plant those little trees and we planted with
them.
午前中は土から苗木を取り出し、籠にいれ、植え替えをしてくださる方のもとまで運びました。昼食後、堆肥を袋にいれて運ぶ作業をし、壁からフェンスをはずし、畳んでしまっておきました。また、午後には地域の方に教えて頂きながら植え替えを一緒に行いました。 |

Today we have been planting trees together with locals. Work was quite
hard because of my knees and back. It hurts to them. But I am enjoying
of the work outside and in the nature.
今日は地域の方と植え替えをしました。仕事はとてもきつく、ひじと背中が痛みましたが、自然の中の外での仕事を楽しむことが出来ました。 |

Today we have been putting up fence around the tree field. First we had
to bring blue fences from storage and then put up trees to hold the fence.
Then we hanged fence around the field.
Work was fun and nice to do, and it was nice when locals explained and
advised
how to do it. Afternoon was free.
今日は苗畑の周りフェンスをつけました。まず、コンテナよりブルーのネットを運び、柵をつける木をてて、畑の周りに柵をつけました。仕事をするのは楽しくて、とてもよかったです。地域の方がやり方を説明してくれることはうれしく、午後はお休みでした。 |

Today we had free day so we decided to go bicycling. First we went to see
river not so far away from here. At river we took walk and ate lunch. After
this we went to hot spa, which was very nice. I would have wanted to bicycle
more, this was very little, but maybe some other day then. It was very
nice to have free day, because on working days after dinner it gets dark,
so we cant do anything outside.
今日はフリーディだっため、サイクリングに出かけました。まずはここからあまり遠くはない川を見に行き、川の周りを歩き、昼食をとり、その後温泉へ向かいました。とてもよかったです。私はもう少しサイクリングを続けたかったのですが、少ししか出来ませんでした。また次回に行おうと思います。フリーディをもてたのはとてもよかったです。ワーク後はあたりはすぐ暗くなり、外に行くことが出来ないからです。 |

First we had to take a long and bouncy drive to get to the
mountains. Up on the mountain we repaired fences of small trees, which
had been planted last year. We had to cut grass that was growing near the
tree and put bamboo sticks up, because they had fallen down. Work was nice,
but my back didn’t like it
初めて時間をかけてドライブをし、山に向かいました。山まで登ると私達は昨年植えた苗木の修繕をしました。また木がよく伸びるように周りの草を切り、落ちてしまった竹の棒を差しました。仕事は楽しかったですが、背中が疲れました・・・。 |

This day we were cutting grass and repairing fences in the mountains. We
started later and finished earlier, so the day wasn’t so hard. On the
way home we stopped to cut grass from around information board and Mr.
Nagai told us about the mountains and the world heritage area.
この日は山で草刈とフェンスの修復を行った。遅い時間から始めて早い時間に終わったので、そこまで大変ではなかった。帰り途中、公園の周りの草刈も行った。永井さんは世界遺産地域についてのお話をしてくれた。 |

Today we woke up a little later and after breakfast we had meeting with
other people. After we went to cut grass to this resting area near river.
We finished early and went for lunch back to nature school. We prepared
our own lunch and we also got fish soup from other people and we were invited
to eat with them. After lunch we went to meeting of organizer, which was
really tiring for me because it was long and I didn’t understand anything.
今日はいつもよりも遅くに起き、朝食後、ほかの人達と会った。その後、川の側の休憩場所へ草刈に出かけた。早めに終了し自然学校に昼食のために戻った。私達は自分達の昼食を用意し、ほかの人たちから味噌汁を頂き、食事に招待してもらった。昼食後、総会に出席し、時間が長く、内容が全く分からなかったためとても疲れてしまった。 |

Today free day and we went bicycle. First in the morning bikes were locked
and we had to wait to get the keys. When we got the keys we went first
to flower place and took a walk and ate lunch there. After this we bicycled
to Ajigasawa and went to hot spa. It was really nice place. When we left
we went to drugstore and after bicycled home to cook dinner.
今日はフリーディだったので、サイクリングに出かけた。午前中は自転車にカギがかかっており、カギが見つからず待つことになった。カギを受け取り、まずは牡丹の花を見に行き、しばらく歩き、ランチを食べた。その後、鯵ヶ沢までサイクリングをし、温泉に行った。温泉はほんとに気持ちがよかった。戻り途中、ドラッグストアーに行き、かえってきて夕食を準備した。 |

In the morning we cut grass from around flowers and trees on the yard of
the school. After lunch we cut little more and soon we went to another
place with car and there we cut some more grass. After break there we took
plastic bag fences away from some plants and tied them to sticks. Nice
day, it was nice to work at the school for a change, and didn’t have to
go anywhere.
午前中、学校の庭の花や木の周りの草刈をしました。昼食後はもう少し続きをし、すぐに車で別の場所に移動して、また少し草刈をしました。休憩後、苗からプラスチックの袋を抜き取り、棒に縛り付けました。とてもいいでした。学校で働くのはどこかに行く必要がなく、いいものでした。 |

In the morning on the way to the mountains in car smelled gasoline and
I got headache. Actually I always get headache on the way there because
road is so bad. When we got to mountains we cut grass and repaired fences.
We got everything done round two o’clock. On the way back we stopped to
pick mountain vegetables, but I was too tired to do that.
今朝はくるまで山へ行く途中、ガソリンのにおいで頭痛がした。実は道が悪いため、いつも私は頭痛になります。山につき、草刈をして、柵を直しました。二時にはすべて終えるができました。帰り道、山菜とりに出かけるためにとまりましたが、私は疲れていて参加できませんでした。 |

In the morning we started to pull up little trees and put them in to small
packs. We packed hundred trees. Packs tied and put into plastic bags. 10.50
we went to Ajigasawa to meet the president of the town, scary… After meeting
we went to sumo museum, it was interesting. We also went to market. After
lunch we went back to pick up small trees
今朝は小さな木を抜き取り、小さなパックに入れました。本の木をパックし、10時50分に鰺ヶ沢の町に行きに町長さんに会いました。怖かったです・・・。懇談の後、相撲博物館に行きました。面白かったです。その後、市場にも行きました。昼食後、また苗木を抜き取りました。 |

In the morning we carried some boxes to the door to wait for the truck.
After this we were waiting for the truck and we made some rice cakes with
locals. That was funny. After making rice cakes we went out to help put
things to truck and then we had lunch at nature school. After lunch we
went up to mountains and carried all stuff to planting area and put them
to places. When we were finished, other people were still cutting grass,
but we didn’t have knives and we tried to go up to view place but didn’t
make it to the top because we had too little time.
今朝はトラックに荷物を積み込むために運び出し、その後トラックを待ち、地元の方とお餅を作った。とても楽しかったです。その後、トラックに荷物を積み込む手伝いをし、学校で昼食をとった。昼食後、山に登り、植樹の場所まで荷物を運び、置いた。仕事を終えた後、ほかの人たちはまだ草刈をしていたが私達はかまがなかったため、景色を見るために上ることしたが、時間が短く、頂上まで行くことが出来なかった。 |

Early in the morning we went up to mountains and helped to carry thing
to places and we cut some grass. We helped to put up tents and put chairs
to places. Then we waited for people to come and when ceremony began we
listened to some speeches. After this we gave helmets and gloves to important
people and went to planting area. We planted some trees, which was nice
and then cleaned up the place and carried things to parking area. After
everyone was ready we went for lunch, delicious. We had to wait for the
important people to come eat before we could clean up the place. We put
up tents and carried boxes to car and went down to nature school. I got
carsick on the way down but otherwise the day was nice. Festival was very
nice and I think it was fun for everyone.
今朝は早くから私達は山に登り、荷物を運ぶのを手伝い、草刈をしました。私達はテントを立て、いすをおきました。そのとき、私達は来賓の方を待ち、式が始まり、スピーチを聞きました。この後、ヘルメットと手袋を来賓の方に渡し、植林の場所に行きました。私達は何本か植林ができ、とてもよかったです。その後、片づけをして駐車場にものを運びました。その後みんなで昼食をとり、美味しかったです。私達は来賓の方が昼食を食べるのを待ち、片づけをしました。その後、テントと箱を車に運び学校に帰りました。帰り道、私は車酔いになりました。それでもいい一日でした。お祭りはよく、みんなよい時間を過ごしたと思います。 |
